Course Overview

Embark on a comprehensive journey into the art and science of piercing with our Piercing Fundamentals course. Over 3 days, participants will delve into essential techniques, safety protocols, and practical applications in the world of body piercing.

Course Content:

Piercing Station Setup:

  • Establishing a well-equipped piercing workstation
  • Selection of appropriate piercing needles for optimal outcomes
  • Familiarization with piercing instruments and necessary supplies

Board of Health Regulations:

  • Understanding health authority standards for safe piercing practices
  • Compliance with regulations to ensure client safety and satisfaction
  • Guidelines for station setup and cleaning procedures endorsed by health boards
  • Bloodborne Pathogens and Cross-Contamination Prevention: Identification and mitigation of bloodborne pathogens
  • Implementation of cross-contamination prevention protocols throughout the piercing process
  • Essential supplies for maintaining hygiene and safety standards

Piercing Procedures and Techniques:

  • Client assessment and consent procedures
  • Precise measuring and marking of body parts for accurate piercing
  • Maximizing client comfort during the piercing process
  • Introduction to the European method of piercing for simplified and efficient procedures
  • Hands-on practice sessions with various piercing techniques
  • Body Parts/Piercings Covered: Lobe piercings
  • Cartilage piercings
  • Tragus, conch, helix, and forward helix piercings
  • Nostril and eyebrow piercings
  • Nipple and belly button piercings
  • Preparation for common piercing requests encountered in the field

Live Model Practice:

  • On the third day of the course, participants will have the opportunity to practice on live models.
  • Participants may bring in their own models or opt for models provided by the course for a nominal fee (subject to availability).
